Fabregas heads for Barcelona

Posted by Nishanth on Thursday, 11 August 2011

So, it's probably third time lucky for Barcelona. They apparently have put an end to the 3 year old transfer saga involving Cesc Fabregas. Sources say that the deal is said to be close to 37 million pounds, with Barcelona making a payment of 32 million and the rest funded by Fabregas who will take a pay cut from the new Barcelona deal
As for Fabregas, I am totally happy with whatever he gave for Arsenal. He always did his level best in all the games he played. It is quite natural that he wants to return to his boyhood club, though many Arsenal fans think he should have stayed at the club which made him a star.
Samir Nasri is also set to exit to Manchester City in a couple of days, so I think apart from the one Center Back signing Arsenal is looking at, we must also try and bring in Juan Mata/ Eden hazard (though Hazard coming in is very unlikely).
It will be a very interesting and hectic two weeks for Arsenal. let's sit back and watch what happens

When will Arsenal get in some experienced players?

So, we have signed another young prospect in Chamberlain. Was that what we wanted at Arsenal right now? There is no denying of the fact that he is an outstanding young player and will be instrumental for us in the future, but when will the experienced people start coming in?

During some years now, we haven’t had a lot of signings which had a WOW factor, apart from Arshavin and probably Samir Nasri. We have been playing all these years with a very young team and we have done well, really well. The only problem is that we haven’t won trophies mostly because after doing so well till February, we start buckling under pressure from March. These are things which would not have happened with more experienced players or rather players who have been winners in our side. I believe that we can do a lot better if we can get in some players like that, especially now since we are looking at some defenders to buy. If we buy at least two of either Cahill, Samba or Mertesacker, we will get that edge we need, that experience and composure our back-line has been missing so far.
So, we have 3 weeks to go before the transfer window closes. We must close down the transfers as soon as possible and stay focused on the important matches we have this month. A few good signings immediately and Arsenal will be in line to win something really big this year.
